The Salisbury Arms is on Triq Il-kbir/High Street close to the Palave and Victoria Hotels and Stells Maris Church. Has the appearance and feel of a traditional English pub plus 3 screens for live sports. Lots of breweriana, Manchester United memoriabilia and pictures of Malta. Extensive food menu too

Sliema/Tower Road Exiles Paradise

Set on the rocks right next to the sea at the southern point of Baluttta bay. It is part of the Exiles water polo club. It feels like it should be on a Greek Island rather than Malta. Superb views night and day. Noisy traditional juke box but with huge cd selection. Chris is a Belgian beer enthusiast. Open from the start of "Spring" until last Sunday in October only.

Sliema/Tower Road Dixies Kiosk

The kiosk in Independance Gardens is a superb sun trap has plenty of tables (and umbrellas - look out for the red Augustijn one) excellent views and good value "ftiras". Closes at dusk on weekday evenings from October to Spring, but is open till quite late on Summer evenings.

On Triq it-Turista, look out for signs outside announcing the various Belgian beers sold. Long thin bar with dining area at rear. Lots of breweriana - especially from Inbev. Owner, Chris is a Belgian beer fan - so the house food speciality is mussels. Very popular for Sunday lunches
